State of Ethos

State of Ethos: A brand that I am very passionate about gave me the opportunity to shoot some photos in their clothing for my Fasm 210 Digital Presentations class.

The objective was to create a fashion advertisement and campaign. I immediately reached out to Will Dowler who I met on the set of Gold You Idiot, a short film that I worked as a "Grip" for and that Will shot the BTS photos for.

The concept for the shoot was Flashback to simpler times which I chose to shoot out at Lane farms (1,000+ acre Multi generational cotton farm) in Garfield, Ga. My idea was to capture an antique type of aesthetic with the use of the old farm truck, the old barn (Restored) and the many fields that have been farmed for decades.

The sun set quick as we were limited on time but the sunset blessed us. After getting the planned photos that I had on my shot list, we made our way down to the lower pond behind the motocross track to catch the color filled sky as the sun was going down. Although these shots weren't a part of my concept initially, I integrated them in. Living on a property like this in southern Georgia, days like this come often but for Will and I, it was a treat. The simple yet charming sunset reminded me of "simpler times" because its a natural thing that happens every day but on somedays more beautiful than others. 

Lane Farms is like a second home to me where I go to ride my dirt bike on most Sundays. When I'm out there, whether I'm riding or just hanging with the Lanes, its an escape from every day life. Being a full time college student, part time bartender, running a clothing brand, and helping others establish theirs, life can get pretty hectic. Here is where I find peace and have the ability to recharge my batteries.
